Dear future english 110 student
English 110 is a course that all OSU students have to take as a GEC requirement.
But after taking english 110, I realized it is not just a class that you can get by to finish your requirement. I have always been a bad writer. This course is designed so that you really think about what you are writing and how you are writing it. To be successful, you really have to reframe your mind into the theme that you are writing in. As an example, if you are writing your ARP, you really have to study your sources and write as a researcher, instead of a student. In terms of commonplace, you really have to write as a common person.
The commonplace writing and editing was really a good way for me to understand writing and writing for other people. The ARP was a good assignment for me because as I become a senior, I have to do research in my major, and the ARP really helped me to write in a research mind set.
English 110 is a course that you can really enjoy, if you only manage your time wisely and really put your effort into the class.
I really enjoyed studying writing at english 110 and I hope that you will do as well.
